Senior Section round up

The 1st team and Devs team were in action on Saturday afternoon on a very wet and miserable day!
The 1st team visited Knaphill Athletic and put in a very strong performance. Connor Young grabbed 4 goals in the first half to put the game well beyond Knaphill at the break. His first was a fantastic run onto a perfectly weighted Dan Mash pass before firing home, his second and third came as he again made a fantastic run in behind the opposition defence and two more perfectly weighted passes allowed for Young to convert for his hat-trick. The fourth came about as Josh Dawber was fouled in the box and Joe Lynch kindly allowed his team mate to step up for his and our fourth. In truth the score could have been far more convincing, Young hit the post, Dawber twice went through 1v1 as did Lynch. Knaphill did grab a goal back as Manorcroft got a little sloppy just before half time to leave the score at the break 1-4 to the Lemons.
The 2nd half was to be dominated by the visitors, Matthew Elmer grabbed two goals the first a close range finish as the ball was squared to him from the right hand side. His second was almost a carbon copy as he showed excellent composure in front of goal. With just minutes left and having missed further countless chances, Huntley twice hitting the post and then the ‘keeper when through, a goal line clearance and many more Knaphill grabbed two late goals, one from a corner which Manorcroft were slow to organise from and then with no pressure on the ball a ball over the top allowed the Knaphill forward to run on and place beyond Armstrong.
Full Time:
Knaphill 3-6 Manorcroft

The Devs visited Ewhurst in the County Cup, John Mallard grabbed the Manorcroft goal on his return to the Yellow and Blue, John represented the Club for many years as a Junior and its fantastic to have him back. With the scores tied at 1-1 and penalties looming Manorcroft missed a guilt edged chance to win with just seconds remaining. In the end the penalty shoot out wasn’t to be! We have an unnerving resemblance to the National team when it comes to penalties! A good performance however once again from the Devs and thats 3 unbeaten (excluding Pens) as the lads settle in.

A minutes silence was immaculately observed at both games on remembrance weekend.
